Shabana FC head coach Peter Okidi has been named Coach of the Month for November 2025, in recognition of his outstanding performance in the SportPesa League within that period.

Okidi was honored at a brief event hosted by SportPesa and the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) at the Kasarani stadium earlier today, receiving a trophy and a KSh 75,000 cash prize. The award highlights the FKF’s commitment to celebrating talent, rewarding excellence, and spotlighting individuals driving the competitiveness and growth of Kenyan football.

November was a remarkable month for Okidi, who led Shabana to two crucial away wins over defending champions Kenya Police FC and Ulinzi Stars, alongside two hard-fought draws, cementing the team’s position as one of the league’s most formidable sides this season.

Speaking after receiving the accolade, Okidi expressed his gratitude:
"First of all, I would like to thank the Almighty and the entire Shabana family. It is such a huge honour to get this award because, looking at all the coaches in the league, there are some who are more experienced than me. It's a motivation that will encourage me to work harder."

He added that the recognition was expected, given the team’s strong performances in November, noting that they had anticipated either the Player of the Month or Coach of the Month award.

Okidi further encouraged fellow coaches, saying that “there’s nothing that’s impossible. Whatever you do positively and with all your energy has a reward.” He reflected on the team’s earlier struggles, mentioning that October had been a difficult month but they knew it was only a matter of time before Shabana picked up form.

Looking ahead, Okidi promised to keep working hard for the fans: “We will keep on working hard to put smiles on our fans' faces. Last season wasn't good, but this time we are working hard to give them what they deserve.”

Following the award, Okidi continued Shabana’s winning momentum, guiding the team to a 3-1 away victory over veteran coach Robert Matano’s KCB FC, a result that propelled Shabana to second on the league table, tied at 23 points with leaders Gor Mahia but with an inferior goal difference.
