Odada Plays Full Match as UTA Arad Extend Impressive Run with Win Over Dinamo București
Harambee Stars midfielder Richard Odada continued his strong run in Romania after playing the entire match as UTA Arad secured a 2-0 victory over third placed Dinamo București on Saturday, 20 December 2025, in the Romanian SuperLiga.
The result was particularly significant given Dinamo’s stature in Romanian football. The Bucharest giants are the second most successful club in the country, having won 18 league titles, and entered the match as one of the league’s leading sides. UTA Arad, however, delivered a composed and disciplined performance to claim all three points.
The win further underlined UTA Arad’s resurgence since Odada made his official debut for the club. Since the Kenyan midfielder first featured, the team has put together an impressive run of results across league and cup competitions. They have recorded victories away to FC Hermannstadt, a convincing Romanian Cup win over FCSB, narrow league wins against Petrolul and Dinamo București, and a draw away to Farul Constanța.
Odada’s journey at UTA Arad has been one defined by patience and persistence. When he left the Scottish Premiership to join the Romanian side from Dundee United in September, he was unable to feature immediately due to a transfer ban that delayed his registration. The midfielder was forced to wait nearly three months before becoming eligible to play.
His long awaited debut finally came on 30 November, when he was introduced in the 73rd minute of a league match that saw UTA Arad end a two match losing streak. That appearance proved to be a turning point, both for the player and the team.
Since then, Odada has become a regular starter, going on to start four consecutive league matches. In that period, UTA Arad have remained unbeaten, registering three wins and a draw, with the Kenyan midfielder playing a central role in stabilizing the side and adding balance to the midfield.
From a frustrating wait on the sidelines to a growing influence in the starting eleven, Odada’s impact at UTA Arad continues to grow with each outing. His performances have not only helped drive the club’s recent resurgence but have also highlighted the value of perseverance and consistency at the highest level.
