Bandari Youth Begin the Year in Style with Emphatic 6–0 Win Over Dandora Youth

Bandari Youth made a perfect start to the year after recording a dominant 6–0 victory against Dandora Youth in an FKF Division One League encounter played on Sunday at the Mbaraki Sports Club.

The hosts started the match at a high tempo, immediately putting Dandora Youth under pressure. The visitors were forced into early clearances as Bandari dictated play from the opening minutes. The breakthrough came in the 11th minute when Steve Giragua calmly slotted home after a beautiful through pass from Suleiman Kahema.

Dandora Youth tried to respond but struggled to match Bandari’s intensity and fitness levels, with midfielder Yusuf Ali, popularly known as China, dominating the middle of the park and controlling the tempo.

In the 22nd minute, Giragua also known as Biko turned provider. He went on a long, determined run, dribbling past defenders before releasing a perfectly timed pass to Suleiman Kahema, who finished clinically to make it 2–0. Bandari Youth went into the halftime break firmly in control.

The second half saw Bandari maintain their dominance. Substitute Ghalib Ali made an immediate impact by curling in a stunning free kick after Hamso was fouled just metres outside the penalty area.

Another substitute, Erisat Orute, delivered a sensational performance, scoring a hat-trick with goals in the 82nd, 85th and 90th minutes to complete a convincing 6–0 win.

Speaking after the match, Bandari Youth head coach Alex Shikanga praised his players’ effort and mentality.

“The boys really impressed me today. They showed great fighting spirit and won almost all the second balls,” said Shikanga.

“Defensively, we performed very well, although there is still work to do. All our goals came from the forwards, and we won many corners. Our defenders must start using these opportunities to add goals.”

Man of the Match Erisat Orute was delighted with his performance after returning from injury.

“I’m happy with this performance. We played well as a team and I managed to score a hat-trick,” Orute said.

“I’m coming back from injury, so I didn’t expect three goals, although I believed I would score.”

The emphatic victory gives Bandari Youth a strong start to the year as they continue their FKF Division One campaign with renewed confidence.
