Gameweek 14 of the FKF Division Two Northern Zone Pool A delivered intense action across the region, with teams battling for crucial points both at the top of the table and in the relegation fight.

League leaders Yanga FC continued their impressive run after edging Samburu Sports Club 1-0 on Sunday. The victory marked Yanga’s fifth consecutive win and kept them firmly at the top of the standings with 33 points from 13 matches.

Samburu Sports Club had a mixed weekend. They started strongly with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Beach Bay on Saturday before falling 1-0 to league leaders Yanga the following day.

Elsewhere, Kisumu Ndogo had a demanding double-header away in Kwale County. They secured a hard-fought 1-0 win against Wayzata Boys on Saturday but could not replicate the result on Sunday, suffering a narrow 1-0 defeat to Denmak FC at Kombani Grounds.

Matanomane Youth, who also travelled to Kwale for two matches, managed to pick up just one point. They played out a goalless draw against RWAFA FC on Saturday before losing 2-0 to Wayzata Boys on Sunday.

In Taita Taveta, Samba Boys from Maungu claimed maximum points at home with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Ziwani Youth, while Goodhope Soccer Academy were held to a 1-1 draw by Malindi-based Young Bulls at Alaskan Grounds.

At the top of the standings, Yanga FC lead the table with 33 points from 13 matches. Goodhope Soccer Academy follow in second place with 27 points after 14 matches, while RWAFA FC sit third with 26 points from 13 games. Matanomane Youth complete the top four with 23 points from 13 matches.

At the other end of the table, the relegation battle is also beginning to take shape. Mombasa All Stars remain rooted at the bottom with just 4 points from 9 matches. Ziwani Youth sit in 18th position with 5 points after 13 games, while Beach Bay occupy 17th place with 6 points from 12 matches as the fight to avoid relegation intensifies. ⚽
