Mozzart Bet on board as Official Betting Partner for 3rd Esse Akida Tournament

Mozzart Bet has been unveiled as the Official Betting Partner for the third edition of the Esse Akida Tournament, set to take place from 26th to 28th December 2025 at the Mkoroshoni Community Grounds in Kilifi.

The tournament is the brainchild of Kenyan football trailblazer Esse Mbeyu Akida, the first Kenyan to score at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). She achieved the historic feat in 2016 during Kenya’s maiden appearance at the continental championship in Cameroon, a milestone that remains one of the defining moments in the history of Kenyan women’s football. That same year, she emerged as the top scorer at the COTIF Women’s Football Tournament in Valencia, Spain, before going on to enjoy successful stints with top-flight clubs in Israel, Turkey and Greece. She currently plays for FKF Women’s Premier League side Kibera Soccer.

The Esse Akida Tournament has grown into an important grassroots platform, nurturing young talent while promoting inclusivity and community development. The 2024 edition produced high-quality competition, with Blue Blue retaining the men’s title after a 2–1 win over Mekoan, while Kilifi Elite lifted the women’s trophy following a penalty shootout victory against Majajani Queens.

Individual excellence was also recognised, with Mekoan’s Samson Juma named Men’s MVP, Florida Bokole taking the Women’s MVP award, and Asma Taura, aged 12, crowned Best Upcoming Player. Winners, runners-up and third-placed teams received cash prizes courtesy of the Esse Akida Foundation, while all participating girls’ teams were supported with sanitary towels and sports inner garments through a partnership with Wecheza.

With Mozzart Bet coming on board as the Official Betting Partner, the 2025 edition is expected to scale new heights, further strengthening the tournament’s impact at the grassroots and reinforcing Akida’s commitment to developing football and empowering communities in Kilifi and beyond.
