Harambee Starlets' CECAFA Matches at Azam Complex Confirmed Despite Schedule Change
The CECAFA Senior Women's Championship, initially slated to kick off on June 12th, has seen a slight adjustment to its schedule and will now commence on Friday, June 13th, 2025.
The good news for Kenyan fans in Dar Es Salaam is that all of Kenya's matches will still be played at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam.
Here's a look at the Harambee Starlets' updated fixtures: Initial Matchday (June 14th) becomes (June 15th) ,Kenya will still open their campaign against Burundi. This match is now scheduled for Sunday, June 15th, at 16:00 (East African Time).
The remaining 4 matches will still be played on the initial dates :
(i)The Starlets' second group stage match will still be on Tuesday, June 17th, where they will take on Uganda at 19:00 EAT
(ii) Kenya's third fixture is still scheduled for Thursday, June 19th, against South Sudan at 16:00 EAT
(iii)Finally, the Harambee Starlets will conclude their group stage matches with a highly anticipated clash against tournament hosts, Tanzania. This match is set for Saturday, June 21st, at 18:00 EAT.
The tournament is being played in a round robin format with the overall top team clinching the championship . For Kenya the tournament and in particular Dar Es Salaam rekindles memories of their inaugural title in 2019 as the Harambee Starlets beat The hosts 2-0 in the final to clinch the country's sole Cecafa Women's Championship under Coach David Ouma
